Hello, and welcome to HealthyHouseplants.com! Today, weā€™re looking at an avocado tree that was grown from a pit. It started in water for about a year and was replanted in this pot around two months ago. If youā€™re interested, thereā€™s another video covering the initial planting process.

Today, Iā€™ll discuss how to monitor your avocado treeā€™s progress and determine if itā€™s thriving. As you can see, this tree is doing well. Some older leaves remainā€”these were the original leaves from when it was first planted in soil. Itā€™s important not to remove all leaves when transplanting, as the tree needs them to photosynthesize and feed itself.

Now that the avocado has new, vibrant growth, itā€™s time to prune some of the older foliage. This not only improves its appearance but also helps prevent pests, as dying leaves can attract them.

To keep your avocado tree healthy, water it when the soil feels close to dry, but not completely dry. Avoid watering if the soil is still moist. When itā€™s time to water, thoroughly soak the soil.

Avocado trees thrive in a humid environment, so consider using a humidity tray. You can use marbles or gravel and keep the water level just below the stones. This setup allows the water to evaporate and provides humidity to the plant. A larger humidity tray can work even better, depending on the look you prefer.

With proper light and care, your avocado tree should continue to thrive. Weā€™ll check back on its progress in the future. Thank you for watching! Please leave any comments about indoor gardening tutorials youā€™d like to see, and remember to like, comment, subscribe, and share this video.
